#The SO Project | Skincare

Hiya guys! So it's here! The debut post of #TheSOProject. I am super excited to share with you guys what product I would recommend as a good starting off SKINCARE product.

If you haven't guessed from the pictures already, I would highly advise a good exfoliant/faical scrub for, not just newbies but everyone as it contributes to keeping your skin super healthy. The one that I use, Neutrogena-Visibly Clear Daily Scrub - Pink Grapefruit is absolutely gorgeous! First of all, the smell of the pink grapefruit is -two words- Pure Heaven.

What  is an exfoliant/facial scrub?
These are liquids which often contain grains in the form of beads or even natural salts designed to gently remove dead skin cells whilst softening and cleansing your skin in the process. Because this scrub in particular is supposed to remove spots/acne and blemishes, along with other exfoliants, they are designed to remove oils including natural oils as it is these oils which contain the bacteria which produces acne.

Exfoliants in the form of scrubs are classified as 'Physical Exfoliants' as they are purchased over the counter but also as I said before, contain grains to help remove the dead skin cells and a serum to cleanse and brighten your skin in the process. Although some may say this type of exfoliant isn't good for people with severe acne as the grains can inflame it even more, I find that the liquid serum containing the grains gives the whole product a smoother and softer feel. An alternative to physical exfoliants are 'Chemical Exfoliants' which do not contain grains but have certain chemicals in them designed to tackle excess oils which lead to acne.

How to use it?
I find it best to exfoliate in the shower or bath as I usually get water everywhere! But doing it with a sink is just as effective. First you wet your face with warm water as it gives off the best results with a wet face. Second you squeeze the exfoliant into you hands and rub it together until it lathers and gets soapy. Then you rub it in and EXFOLIATE around your face avoiding your sensitive eyes. Be sure to do this in a circular movement getting your oily, blemishes and big pore spots to eliminate those dead skin cells and unwanted oils. Finally rinse off the exfoliant repeatedly until all the soap is removed. After your face dries, be sure to moisturize as exfoliation really dries out your skin. Oh and don't forget to admire your SMOOTH face afterward!

Repeat this once-twice a week if you have dry skin or twice-four times a week if you have oily skin

You should only ever use one face scrub at a time as multiple brands can lead to unwanted rashes so when choosing your own face scrub, stick to it! So the Neutrogena-Visibly Clear Face Scrub-Pink Grapefruit wins it for me although I have tried a Witch brand before which you can find out about here. I really liked it but the smell of the Neutrogena, won me over!

You can get the product from Boots or Superdrug. With both at around £3, it's a must have!

Hope you liked the post and see you next week Tuesday at 6pm for The Starting Off Project WEEK2-Concealer.

Lots of Love,

#The SO Project | INTRO

Hiya guys! How are you all today? Well today's post is about The SO Project. Now if you have not heard about this already, it is a project created by Stephanie Mapplebeck that is supposed to help out and encourage make up newbies and teens to get the gist of make-up and all things beauty; hence the SO standing for Starting Off.

As soon as I heard about the project, I was all up for it seeing as I had been out of the blogging world for a while (if you consider three posts as IN the blogging world...) and thought this would motivate me to come back and do the thing that makes me really happy (okay cheesy much? haha). Anywho... you are probably wondering why me, a newbie would even bother trying to give advice to other newbies? Well it's simply because I got introduced properly to make-up about a year ago so am fresh out of the newbie stage infact, yes I probably am still in it...but my point, is that the advice I will (try) to give should (hopefully) be fresh and recent :)

The series will be every Tuesday for the next 10 weeks.

WEEK1 is Skincare so tune in today at 6 for my view on the best skincare product for newbies/teens.

REMEBER: every Tuesday at 6:00pm is a new topic ! Also check out #TheSOProject on twitter and don't forget to look at all the other wonderful #SO bloggers' blogs who are willing to help newbies get a start in this crazy life of make-up and beauty.

I am really excited about this and I hope you guys are too!

Have an amazing day,

Lots of Love

My Choice | Foundation

Dear, All !!

I know it has been a while since my last post...but wait no more!! I am hoping to blog a lot now and share with you everything I know or discover to do with Beauty, Fashion and Lifestyle :)

As you have read in the title, this blog post is going to be about 'My Choice' on foundation.

As you can see, I use the Mac Studio Sculpt foundation SPF 15 and I am a very proud user.

Pros:

-Moisturising- It has a dewy texture so is easily spreadable

-Full coverage- It's not too light a finish so covers most of your blemishes, freckles and spots

-Comfortable- Doesn't itch or irritate skin so is a whole-day-wear foundation

-Gives off a radiant glow (so I've been told... *wink* *wink*)

Cons:

Quite wet- Like I said before it is fairly dewy so isn't the best for oily skin

Quite dense- It sits quite heavy on the face

Can appear quite orange in lighter shades- A lot of foundations suffer this case but can be corrected with a fair powder

I don't usually wear a lot of makeup especially foundation in fact I only really wear it for special occasions as I am still young and ,along with other teens, I don't need to cover up my face all the time as it's not necessary.

However, on the plus side, I find it a great buy and to back that up the pros override the cons! Personally, I have combination skin and I can truthfully say that it's more or less the best foundation for me however I do HIGHLY recommend this foundation to people with dry skin.

A very lovely, moist, full coverage foundation wins it for me...

...I would luuurve to know what's YOUR choice on foundations??? :)

Event | Benefit Fine One One Launch and Reveiw

Hiya guys :)
So yesterday I went to the Benefit Fine One One launch in Leeds! It was such an amazing event and an amazing experience as I also got to try on the brand new product!
As soon as I got there, I noticed the massive stack of the product packaged in a very cute travel sized box which matched the cute pink scarves that the Benebabes wore.
A close up of the product
It's made up of 3 different colours which all come together to make a coral pink flush. The palest colour is a very light pink which acts as the highlighter. The middle is a deeper pinky coral which acts a blusher and the other is an orange colour which acts as the contour

When asked if I wanted to try the product I was quick to jump at the opportunity and was really pleased with the result! I thought that the colour wouldn't suit my complexion and that it would be too bright and pink but not at all! It suits all complexions when acting as a blusher, highlighter for the nose and a very chic lipstick. The texture is very smooth and would compliment all skin types.

After trying out the famous Fine One One, i couldn't resist getting my brows done and treating them to Benefit's Brow-Zings. The compact comes with 2 shades of your desired brow colour( mine was the 'Dark' shade, 2 mini brushes and tweezers  The compact as a whole is palm sized so very efficient for when you're on the go.
I would definitely consider buying this ;)

The event as a whole was super good, especially as we got treated to the treats you can see above :P
I would also definitely consider buying Fine One One as it seems very handy and can be used on multiple occasions.
If  only I had more money...LOL

Do you think you will buy it? Please comment :*

Bye Bye

OOTD | A walk in the park

Hi lovelies!
First posts are known to be the most awkward things ever to start off. But I'm going to hit the ground running by doing an OOTD post of what I wore today. From reading this blog, you will learn more about myself as an individual, styles I love and beauty things I come across.
Without further a do, I'll crack on :)

Top: Topshop, Skirt & Belt: Primark, Tights: Primark, Boots: MandS

I decided to name the post 'A Walk In The Park' mainly based on the new M and S boots I bought earlier on this week. As soon as I saw them in the kids section, I instantly fell in love with the cowboy chic style and thought of this post idea! The boots are a great idea for a seasonal walk in the park as you never know when the weather will change it's mind, making it a very versatile outfit as a whole. The top was bought with a birthday voucher from Topshop which is my first ever piece from that shop! I wore this top to add a bit of colour and texture. The skirt is a similar story, bought around my birthday but it added the 'girly touch' to this. To complete the outfit I would probably throw on a beige coat.

Thanks for reading
Charlotte
